PROBLEM:

You have added an extension to a Directory List, but the extension is not announced when the Directory Submenu plays (Release 7.0 or later).

  Possible Cause Corrective Action
 

The extension name has not been recorded. This can happen in particular for extensions other than mailbox extensions.

Record a name for this extensions.

     

PROBLEM:

User complains they cannot get Record-a-Call to work when a Record-a-Call button has been programmed on their PARTNER telephone.

  Possible Cause Corrective Action
 

• Record-a-Call has not been enabled for the mailbox.
• Voice mailbox is full or system is full.

• Enable Record-a-Call for the mailbox. See “Changing the Record-a-Call Message Length”.
• Instruct user to delete unneeded messages from the mailbox. Increase the size of the mailbox. See “Changing
the Mailbox Size
”.

     

PROBLEM:

User complains recording of a call stopped before they pressed the Record-a-Call button or before the call ended.

  Possible Cause Corrective Action
 

• Maximum recording length has been reached.

• The system detected 15 seconds of silence.

• Instruct user to press Record-a-Call button again to start recording again.
Increase the maximum Record-a-Call message length. See “Changing the
Record-a-Call Message Length

• Instruct user to press Record-a-Call button to continue recording.

     

PROBLEM:

When playing a Directory Submenu, “the submenu prompt has not been recorded” is heard.
  Possible Cause Corrective Action
  None of the extensions in the Directory List have names recorded for their extensions.

Record names for the non-mailbox extensions in the Directory List. If the list contains mailbox extensions, the
submenu greeting will automatically correct itself when users log in to their mailboxes— they will be required to record their name before they can
retrieve their messages.
