IP Office Contact Store
Installing ContactStore
Before installing ContactStore software make sure that you have:
Installed the IP Office Manager application and added the ContactStore License if purchased.
Installed the VoiceMail Pro application.
If ContactStore is to be installed on a separate machine:
Make the Voice Recording Library on the VMPro server visible as a network share.
Configure your security so that the ContactStore service can read and write to this share.
Create and set a registry key on the ContactStore server to tell ContactStore the location of the share. Set the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Alchemy\Voicemail\Directories\VRLDir to be a string containing the name of the share.
Note
If a version of ContactStore is already installed, follow the instructions for Upgrading ContactStore.
To install ContactStore:
Insert the ContactStore Distribution CD. Installation should auto-start. The Choose Setup Language window opens.
If the installation program does not start automatically, use Windows Explorer to access the CD drive and double-click setup.exe to start the program.
Select the installation language. The language is used for the installation.
Click OK. Installation preparation begins. The Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for ContactStore for IP Office window opens.
Click Next. The Choose Destination Location window opens.
Select the path into which to install the application.
Click Next. Installation will take a few minutes. When the software has been installed the InstallShield Wizard Complete window opens.
The Microsoft SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE) will be installed automatically. It will be located in your Program Files path, as recommended by Microsoft. Since the ContactStore installation program installs a named instance of MSDE ("ContactStore"), it can co-exist with any other installation of MSDE you may already have.
Click Finish.
To complete the installation reboot the server.
Connect the ContactStore server to the IP Office via the Local Area Network port.
Verify connection by entering http://myservername:8888/ in your browser, replacing myservername with the IP address or hostname of the ContactStore.
Once you have completed the installation, you need to verify the ContactStore configuration. In most cases, the default settings for many of the configuration options in IP Office ContactStore are valid. However, there are some settings that have no defaults. For more information, see Changing Server Settings.
The first time you access the Search and Replay page you will be asked to install ActiveX control. For more information, see Starting ContactStore.
Upgrading ContactStore
If a version of ContactStore is already installed, you need to complete the following steps before installing the new software version.
You are strongly advised to take a complete backup of the partition onto which the application has been installed. If you have configured your calls folder to be on a different partition as recommended, this does NOT need to be backed up. Before backing up the disk, you should STOP the “ContactStore for IP Office” and “MSSQL$CONTACTSTORE” services.
Remove the current version of ContactStore.
From the Start button open the Control Panel menu.
Select Add/Remove Programs > ContactStore for IP Office.
Remove the application completely.
Follow the directions at top of page.
