Single-Line Telephones Ring Back after Completed Call

Possible Cause 1: The switchhook is pressed and released too quickly after a call is completed.

What to do: Instruct the user always to replace the handset carefully for at least one to two seconds between calls. If the problem is not resolved, go to Possible Cause 2.

Possible Cause 2: The telephone may be defective.

What to do: Test the telephone by replacing it with a similar telephone that you know is working.
• If the replacement telephone does not ring back, then replace it with the original telephone and check again. If the original telephone still rings back, then the original telephone may be defective. Call the Carroll Communications at 732-751-0101 (consultation charges may apply).
• If the replacement telephone rings back, there may be a problem with the system wiring or the control unit. Call Carroll Communications at 732-751-0101 (consultation
charges may apply).
Some single-line telephones have a positive disconnect switch. If the switch is set to positive
disconnect, Possible Cause 1 does not apply. In this case, skip to Possible Cause 2.
